Rigor with Reward

Envision Your Career Pharmacy is a dynamic field where knowledge is growing rapidly and challenging you to continuously learn. It also offers tremendous career flexibility, with opportunities in community pharmacies, ambulatory clinics, hospitals, long-term-care pharmacies, research, academia, government and public health. Within these settings you will create optimum therapeutic care plans, provide patients with medication information and counseling, and serve as a medical information resource.

Three-year PharmD The three-year Doctor of Pharmacy pathway is the only accelerated PharmD program in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Pacific’s accelerated PharmD program enables you to receive a pharmacy doctoral degree in three years with our 160 credit curriculum, instead of the traditional four years. Our accelerated program runs on a year-round academic schedule, with a two-week break during the summer, as well as a traditional multi-week winter break. This intensive academic schedule enables you to graduate one year earlier than traditional PharmD programs.

Five-year PharmD The five-year doctor of pharmacy program is the only on-campus, extended PharmD pathway in the U.S. This innovative and flexible approach makes earning a PharmD accessible to students who otherwise may not be able to consider a full-time program. This pathway includes four years of didactic coursework and a final fifth year of advanced clinical experiences in a variety of pharmacy settings. The curriculum is designed to allow incoming students to work and care for their families while earning their degree without having to make too many sacrifices.

Service That Inspires You Integrity and respect for diversity are touchstones of our program. At Pacific your education is designed to prepare you for providing compassionate pharmaceutical care to a diverse patient population.

Fascinating Opportunities Our goal is to graduate every student, and our faculty members serve as academic advisers who are committed to your success. Here you’re not just a number. Your adviser and the School of Pharmacy care about your progress—and your struggles—and are here to help you be the best student and pharmacist that you can be.

Life Outside the Classroom The Pharmacy program is demanding, which makes life balance critical to your success. Our location on the Health Professions Campus in Hillsboro, Oregon offers tremendous opportunities for recreation to balance your coursework responsibilities. From here you have easy access to the Pacific Northwest wine country, beaches and coastal range. Active student associations build a sense of community, and you can also arrange kayaking, rafting, backpacking, hiking and cross-country skiing excursions through the Pacific Outback office.

We know you’ve got the smarts. But what about the other qualities that make an exceptional healthcare professional? Pacific students are passionate. They are empathetic. They are service-oriented. And they are fun. These innate interpersonal qualities are just as important to us as your academic profile. We want to learn about these qualities in addition to your academic preparation. So show us what you’ve got.
